Xi’an Jian University Roof Aluminum Tile Project


In the roof‑tile renovation project for the teaching building at Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, aluminum‑magnesium‑manganese alloy seven‑wave tiles manufactured by Xi’an Penghang were selected, with a custom‑matched color. The entire roof‑tile installation has now been completed. Unlike conventional clay tiles or color‑steel tiles, which typically suffer from weathering, cracking, rust, and leakage within 3–5 years, these custom‑designed aluminum‑magnesium‑manganese seven‑wave tiles are perfectly suited to Xi’an’s unique climate—characterized by large temperature swings between winter and summer, intense summer sun exposure and frequent rainfall, and severe frost in winter. They offer superior waterproofing, wind resistance, and corrosion protection compared with traditional roofing materials, with a service life exceeding 50 years and virtually eliminating the need for subsequent repairs or tile replacements, thereby significantly reducing long‑term maintenance costs for the building.

As a leading university with deep roots in the architecture field, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology’s recent roof renovation also prioritized harmony with the campus’s overall aesthetic. The custom‑designed low‑saturation matte gray roofing tiles are seamlessly integrated with the façade style of the older teaching buildings dating back to the university’s early years, avoiding any jarring contrast between new and existing materials. Moreover, the recyclability of aluminum‑magnesium‑manganese panels fully aligns with the goals of building a green, low‑carbon campus. The project has now passed joint acceptance by the university’s infrastructure department, serving as a benchmark case for upgrading aging public‑building roofs in Xi’an.
